Serta Perfect Sleeper: Finding Sheets That Actually Fit Your Serta Deep Perfect Sleeper Mattress
The Serta Perfect Sleeper is a standard flagship mattress that’s been around for years. And while the new models keep getting plusher and more comfortable, they’re also getting thicker. The new Serta Perfect Sleeper with a pillow top is close to 14-inches thick.
You can buy sheets that are designed for thicker mattresses, but they don’t always do the job. As soon as you lie on the bed, these supposedly “deep pocket” sheets start riding up. So, how do you solve the problem and stop short-sheeting your Serta Perfect Sleeper?
Measure Sheets Before You Buy
You can find piles of sheets that claim to have “deep pockets” designed to fit under the thickest of mattresses. However the word “deep” is pretty open to interpretation. Deep-pocket sets are barely stretching over 12-inch mattresses, let alone the much thicker Serta Perfect Sleeper models.
So, make sure you know the exact depth of your mattress before you shop for sheets and check the dimensions listed on the package before you buy. If the bedding manufacturer doesn’t list the depth of the sheets, pull them out and measure the distance between the corner and the peak of the stitching. It should exceed your Serta mattress’s depth.
Alternatively, ask at your linen’s retailer. Since mattresses are getting deeper and thicker, but sheet makers aren’t keeping up, this is a common problem. Linen stores typically stock extra-deep sheets in a special section.
Try Sheet Stopper Products
If you’re really attached to your favorite, old flannel sheets, most bedding stores sell sheet stopper products that are designed to hold your sheets in place.

Don’t Forget the Bedspread
Because the new pillow-top Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress is so deep and tall, you may need to buy a larger comforter or bedspread to fully cover it if you want your bedspread to hit the floor. For example, a queen-sized bed may need a king-sized comforter while a king-sized bed may need a larger or “deeper” comforter.
If you have a California-King sized Serta Perfect Sleeper, you should be fine as most California King bedding manufacturers design their bedding for extra deep or taller beds.
